It totally snowed this weekend. SNOWED. And Joel made me go walk around in it! We have this conversation every year:
Joel: Hey! Let's go outside for a walk.
Carrie: No. It's cold and I don't like to walk in the cold because I get cold and I don't like being cold. Cold is not as good as warm, which is what I'll be if I stay inside like a normal person.
Joel: Come on! It'll be great! We'll just bundle up!
Carrie: Um... ok, I guess. Maybe it will be ok if I have a scarf and stuff.
Cut to 20 minutes later:
Carrie: God! Every year! This happens every year! We go on a walk when it's cold and then I get a runny nose and I'm miserable!
Joel: No way! It's glooooorious out here! What are you talking about? There's nothing like breathing in the fresh, cold air!
Carrie: Yeah, in a minute you won't be breathing anything. Let's go home.
Yesterday was a little different in that it didn't start out very cold, but a storm blew in while we were walking and we ended up walking the last half mile home through the snow. And, as anyone married to me can attest, the only thing worse than Cold Carrie is Cold and Wet Carrie. He made it up to me by taking me to Taco Bell where I enjoyed a Volcano Taco, which was yummy and made me smile.
This time of year is so weird because it will be cold and snowy one minute and the next it's about 70o and you're spending 20 minutes trying to peel off the layers and layers of clothing you were wearing a minute before. It's kind of annoying, actually, because I don't have many clothes suitable for the office that also look good when layered. So, I end up looking like the Michelin Man in a cardigan sweater.
The worst part is with the heating/air conditioning in our office. It's a small office and we've been warned to never touch the thermostat. But when I got in this morning, after a weekend of sleet and snow and cold, the furnace was completely turned off and it was about 55o. So, God help me, we turned that mother on and within about 5 minutes it smelled like someone was burning a pile of hair on the conference table. And it's still cold.
So, Welcome to Autumn in Utah, where this:
Will easily turn to this:
Dear God. Seriously? What the hell?
And then, possibly, this:
Those mounds on the side of the road aren't snow-covered cars. They're the frozen remains of my dreams.
A volcano taco? That sounds disturbing. And yet, warming!

I cannot believe you already have snow. It's 80 degrees here today. And I don't live in Miami, I live in PENNSYLVANIA.
But anyway: how was the Volcano taco? As hot as they make it seem on TV?

Turkey: It was cold this weekend but I think it will be in the 70s this weekend. Go figure.
My thoughts on the Volcano Taco: It's a regular taco with some hot-pepper sauce on it. I love all things spicy and this fit the bill quite nicely. It didn't make me breathe fire (which confirms my suspicions that there is no truth in advertising anymore) but it was still pretty good. However, take that opinion for what it's worth because I'm a Taco Bell whore and would probably eat anything they make and think it was fantastic.
